What We Believe

What We Believe:

  • Scripture: We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God and teaches us all we need to know for life and godliness. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, Hebrews 4:12)
  • God: We believe that God is the creator of the universe. He is a spirit who is all powerful, all knowing and nothing in all creation is hidden from Him.  All those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.  He is just and forgiving.  He is the source of genuine love and everything that is good.  He has provided for the redemption of all His creation and sent His son, Jesus, to accomplish this.  (John 3:16, Romans 11:33-36, I John 4:13–16, Genesis 1:1)
  • Jesus: We believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Mesiah, and the son of God. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and both fully God and fully man. He is the Savior of all people who come to know and obey Him.  We believe Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again on the third day and personally appeared to His disciples. (Romans 4:25; Luke 1:26-35, Isaiah 7:14)
  • Holy Spirit: We believe the Holy Spirit lives in each Christian through the word of God and is manifested through the fruits of the spirit; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, and faithfulness. The Holy Spirit is the third person of the godhead.  He inspired the writers of the scriptures.  (1 Corinthians 6:19, Galatians 5:22-26, 2 Peter 1:21)
  • Salvation: We believe it is because of Jesus’ sacrifice that we are saved by the grace of God through our repentance and our faith, not our good works. We also believe in the necessity of water baptism by immersion in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit for the remission of sins. (1Timothy 2:5-6, Ephesians 2:8-9, Matthew 28:19, Acts 2:37-39)
  • The Church: We believe God established His Church as a community of believers, with Christ as the head, for the purpose of sharing the good news of salvation and eternal life. A great blessing of the church is sharing life together, encouraging one another, serving our community and worshipping regularly. (Acts 2:42-47, Hebrews 10:24-25)
  • The Greatest Command: We believe the greatest commandments are to love the Lord your God and love your neighbor as yourself. (Matthew 22:36-40)
